Chocolatier Anthon Berg created the “Generous Upgrader,” a program that rewards un-lucky travelers based on how bad their airline seat is. They’ve partnered with SeatGuru to determine your seat on the plane and reward you accordingly. Passengers just have to visit a stand in a promotional area of the airport where an Anthon Berg stewardess helps them scan their boarding pass.In addition to chocolates there are also Anthon Berg-branded neck pillows and eye masks for those with the worst seats.
Why I’m Curious: In the travel space, those that pay the highest ticket price are the ones to get rewarded (cookies and champagne, anyone?). While that makes business sense for airlines, there is clearly an opportunity for complementary brands to focus on the oft ignored consumer at the back of the plane.
