The Mill, a London based visual effects studio, created a “Christmas Wish Machine” that turns tweets into paper snowflakes. Twitter users are encouraged to submit their Christmas wishes to @TheMillWishes, which the machine would transform into a paper snowflake that is added to a special snowstorm window display. For each tweet added to the snowstorm display, The Mill would make a 10-pence donation to Crisis, a national charity for homeless people.
Why I’m Curious
I think being able to visualize what is happening in the digital world in real life is always interesting and a great way for more people to become aware of a social campaign. By creating a real life window display that already catches peoples’ attention and also inviting more people to submit their Christmas wish tweets is a fun way to get more people involved.
