Dutch airline KLM recently launched an automated aspect to their Twitter feeds, which enables consumers to find the lowest fare on the airline. Simply tweet your city names and month/date request to @klmfares and in a minute, you’ll get an @reply with the lowest fare on KLM, along with a direct link to your request on KLM.com.
Why I’m Curious
Even well-designed airline sites and aggregators can be a pain to navigate, especially on a mobile device. KLM simplifies the experience for flight seekers in a way that takes advantage of the medium (Twitter) and makes searching and booking easy. I’d be interested to see if aggregators take this to the next level and offer a similar service.
