Why I am curious:
Because the sum is greater than the parts…
So far, I have been uploading several variations around the idea of crowdsourcing: examples that show HOW people collaborate to build a final product—one in which its success resides in the sum of all the parts, as opposed to individual performances. To me, the question is still WHY (why people collaborate? which are the individual motivations to collaborate?).
Perhaps, the answer is as simple as: because we are collective and social in nature. However, one can say that we are also competitive and territorial.
